Friends of Annan

The Friends of Annan School is a group to which all parents at the school belong. It is run by a committee of parents, in partnership with the school.

The main aims of the group are to fundraise for the school, to organise social events, to build community at the school and to establish links and represent the school in the wider local community.

Although Annan is a fee-paying school, the fees pay primarily for the teaching staff and day to day running of the school and basic equipment. The Friends has successfully raised thousands of pounds which have paid for a range of resources for the children such as library books, gardening and playtime equipment, enhancements to the outdoor areas and much more.

The Friends group organises a host of events each year such as the Winter Festival, the summer Strawberry tea, a sponsored cross-country run as well as supporting the school with refreshments at concerts, shows and other events. The Friends do not get involved in the governance of the school.

“As a member of the Friends committee I love getting involved in running Community events such as the Winter Festival and Strawberry Tea party and it is so rewarding to see how the money raised enhances resources for the children.”
