What an incredible morning we had at our Living History event. Every class put on a charming display which included a Victorian Classroom where children sat in rows, wrote on slates and were taught by a very severe teacher! There was a Stone Age village where everyone had a go at cave painting and tried rock cakes. In the Kindergarten there was a vintage Tea Party with lots of beautiful vintage crockery and tea dance music as well as great cake.
The Willows excelled themselves with their Anglo Saxon World complete with Saxon stew, and monastery and demonstrations of illuminated writing. Their Sutton Hoo “burial” re-enactment was also a great highlight at the end of the morning. Thank you so much to all the parents who spent ages making cakes or costumes and to all the wonderful teaching staff for what was obviously a huge amount of work for them to prepare. We are so lucky to have such talented staff and feedback has been tremendous.
What an amazing way to Communicate all the learning which has been taking place this term.
