This term our topic is “The World Around Us”. Willow and Elder Classes went out to immerse themselves in the world of the South Downs. They walked from the Clayton windmills to Ditchling Beacon taking in the flora and fauna, contours of the land, using OS maps and FSC nature guides. They learnt about the Anglo Saxon churches and the Clayton Gothic railway tunnel. They came back inspired to learn more about mapping, the geography of the Downs and discover all about the new National Park.
